Oh hey, fellow bloggers! Thanks so much for stopping by our partnership page. We’d love to tell you a little more about what we’re up to here on our corner of the internet, including why you should consider working with us. Spoiler alert: we’re super fun!
The Everyday Explorist is a United States-focused travel blog created by wifey and hubby duo Miranda & Orlando Diaz. Well, maybe a slightly more accurate version would be that Miranda had the hare-brained idea to start a travel blog and dragged said husband along for the ride. He’s mostly a willing participant now. 😊 Miranda is the impulsive, insatiably curious planner of the duo. Orlando is the laid-back, up-for-anything adventurous one who gets sucked into Miranda’s “ideas.” He rarely complains though, because Miranda always keeps him near the latest local brewery.
We were slow to the travel party, stumbling into it pretty much on a whim when we were well into our 30s. We loved it so much we honestly wondered why we’d wasted so much of our lives not travelling. So, we travelled. And travelled more. And then some more. We have travelled across the United States and are always planning our next trip. We’ve been to forty-five states and are constantly planning new adventures to new corners of America we can’t wait to see.
The goal of the Everyday Explorist is to inspire and help regular folks to explore more. We believe the lessons travel teaches are life-changing and should be accessible to everyone. As a young family of five, we’ve learned how to travel domestically as busy working parents on a limited budget. And we want to teach our readers how to do it too!
About Our Content
So…. what do we even write about? Travel, silly…but more particularly:
- U.S Destination Guides: We want to help our readers see the best of America, period. From quaint, sleepy small towns you’ve never heard of, to everyone’s favorite big cities revisited. We tell you what makes each city visit-worthy, discuss the best time to go, and help you find the best things to see, eat and do as efficiently as possible and within a budget. We’ll help our readers dive deeper into the destinations by understanding the history, feeling, and traditions of that place. We are explorists after all. Like tourists, but less lame.
- Itinerary Guides: We love writing itinerary guides for our readers! Let’s face it, not everyone has the time or skill for planning so we’re here to help. We help create curated itineraries based on your travel interests, budget, and time available. We love helping our audience maximize time (no matter how limited) to get the most out of their trip! We use Miranda’s whiz skills with things such as leveraging business hours and proximity to squeeze the most out of every day. Just super well-planned itineraries with tons of options to keep it flexible.
- Local Food & Drink Recommendations: Is this our favorite reason to travel? Quite possibly. It’s for sure the reason we’ll never be skinny. As we travel, we love connecting to the local food traditions of the cities we visit. We’ll get the lowdown on how the favorite local eats came to be and do the rough work of sampling for you. We’ll have you eating and drinking like an authentic local, calories be damned!
- Cultural Attractions: If you’re looking for bloggers who laze around suntanning, we’re not it. First, Miranda is translucent and while she loves the beach, you’re much more likely to find her hollering at a sports event, perusing an artsy museum or old library, chasing street art or snuggling goats at a zoo. We’re antsy, cerebral types always hunting the next thing to keep us stimulated. We are attraction-junkies, so you can trust us to find all the good stuff.
- Outdoor Adventure Travel: Ok, so this one is a work in progress. We like the outdoors; we just aren’t super good at it. We camp, we parasail, we jet ski, we hike; the mister is an ultra-marathoner. And the missus did a sprint triathlon. We’re just laughably clumsy and uncoordinated. We don’t come from outdoorsy families so we’re learning as we go. Just be patient with us and keep your expectations low. Being such woefully mediocre outdoor travelers however, if we tell our audience, it’s doable, you KNOW it’s doable.
- Family, Couples & Solo Travel: When we started a travel blog, we heard niches were cool. Our niche is relatable U.S travel, but beyond that? We mostly road trip as a family of five with our sassy teens and little guy. We also travel as a couple, with pals, and Miranda has a fancy new job she travels for (a real job, like regular people), so we write about it all. Family, solo, girlfriends, couple travel? However, you travel, we probably got you.
- Budget Travel: Sorry richies, but we are a budget operation. Honestly, we spent so many years not travelling because we thought we couldn’t afford it. We’re guessing many of you probably think the same, but we want to change that! We are all about budget-friendly travel and finding the best free fun, cheap eats and reasonable (but not horrifying) lodging for your travels. So, if you work for the Holiday Inn in Iowa and you’re looking for the perfect Influencer? Holla!
- Travel Essentials: We are always on the hunt for the latest and best travel gadgets and gear to make travel easier, more comfortable, safe, efficient, and stylish. We love partnering with brands with products that both we and our audience would love! .
Collaborate with The Everyday Explorist
We are always on the lookout for new partners with shared goals. We are open to all kinds of collaboration, so if interested, hit us up with your ideas. Just some of the things we can do include:
- Sponsored Travel & Destination Blog Posts: We absolutely love promoting United States travel! If you are a local travel & tourism board looking to get the word out about your amazing city, we’d love to work with you.
- Lodging Reviews: Whether you are a hotel, resort, small mom & pop shop, or rental property, we’d love to learn more about you and help our readers do the same!
- Product Reviews: Got a great travel product you want to get out there? Let’s chat! No like uber luxury $7000 duffels or anything though (see budget, above).
- Social Media Content & Reviews: Let us use our social media (or hell, yours if you want) to tell a story. Find us on Insta, Twit (or X or Y or whatever it’s called these days), Tik Tok and Pinterest. We’ll get Facebook up eventually when there are 30 hours in a day.
- Brand ambassadorship: If we love your product, we’ll happily rep it. The hubs literally has an entire closet of well-earned swag he reps from places we love (mostly food-related but whatevs). If anyone from Diet Dr. Pepper stumbles on this page, seriously hit us up. With the amount of your product Miranda drinks on cross-country road trips, she should be your mascot.
The fine print stuff:
- We’re open to all collabs so if you think we’re on the same wavelength, reach out! We’re Midwesterners, so even if your project isn’t a fit for us, we’ll be nice about it.
- We are open to all sponsored travel but would especially love to help promote smaller, lesser-known destinations. We believe there is something unique about every place and would love to explore and bring attention to unfamiliar destinations. We are extremely adept at appreciating each place for its individual character. So no, we’re not going to judge your small community in Nebraska by NYC standards.
- We’re only able to promote products and brands we believe in (we know, integrity shmegrity). Our audience trusts us to promote what we love, which if your product or brand is awesome only works to your benefit! Product partnerships require a test run, and sponsored travel reviews need to be an honest assessment, so book us at your own risk.
- If we accept a sponsored trip, it is important to us to be super transparent about that. It’s critical that our audience trusts and understands what we are reviewing and why. If we absolutely adore our trip, we’ll learn all about you and make sure the interweb knows about you and how great you are as well. Disclosure is everything.
- Lastly, please know we work super hard to help brands and products shine but as of yet we are not able to volunteer our services. As micro-influencers we work on a super reasonable exchange and/or fee basis. So, let’s chat about what we can come up with!
